The Cedar Valley Black Business & Entrepreneurship Accelerator aims to provide critical and intensive financial and sustainability support to accelerate growth and development for new and existing minority owned businesses in the Cedar Valley. We believe in taking action with urgency in order to reduce barriers and raise public awareness about the most pressing issues facing the minority owned business community.  We offer a free, intensive accelerator designed to provide financial aid, business resilience, mentorship and scale strategies for black-owned businesses.

While the accelerator is a 24/7 program, it functions with collaborative efforts of UNI Business and Community Services, Grow Cedar Valley, Iowa C.O.R.E. and Red Cedar.

Skill Up aims to increase personal and professional development, amplify leadership and growth strategies and build networks of influence for Black Professionals and businesses in the Cedar Valley.  Our mission is to connect with the unemployed/underemployed, fill vacancies and employment opportunities, build career readiness and advancement skills, promote diverse supplier support and work with employers committed to diversifying their workforce to influence the amount of Black managers and leaders in local and national companies.

Launched by the 24/7 Black Leadership Advancement Consortium in response to the arrival of Covid-19 and an increased unemployment rate in the Cedar Valley, Skill Up is a direct and intentional approach to address the economic livelihoods of African Americans who have been historically  financially marginalized and under-resourced.

There is a unique set of financial literacy skills that accompany the journey to creating financial wealth; information that is not always readily available to underrepresented populations.  The goal of the Building Wealth financial empowerment series is to connect with historically marginalized and underbanked populations to create businesses, build financial empowerment and resiliency skills, reach financial goals and explore asset building.

Join us and financial guru Michael Finley and special guest speakers as we generate wealth and passive income. Registration is here.

We work with companies who are serious about equity and building a diverse talent pipeline to create strategies and  sustainable goals. We also focus on strengthening diversity supplier initiatives.
